PROFESSIONAL INSIGHT
Q: What is your role at VGM Forbin, and can you describe a typical day for you?
A: I am the Visual Content Strategist. Throughout a typical day I am navigating design trends and integrating them into work for print, email, and social media marketing content to ensure each piece not only meets the client's expectations but also catches the attention of the target audience.
Q: How long have you been part of the VGM Forbin family?
A: I have been a part of VGM Forbin since May of 2023.
Q: What do you love most about your role, and what motivates you to excel each day?
A: I love that I can flex my creative muscle and think outside the box to produce visual content that people are excited to share. The design space is always changing, and that fast pace keeps me on my toes and motivated.
Q: Who has inspired you during your career and how has it made you who you are today?
A: I am constantly inspired by the people I work with, especially Cheyenne Newman, whose attention to detail and creative spirit inspires me to push my design work to be better.
PERSONAL TOUCH
Q: Outside of work, what hobbies or activities do you enjoy?
A: I enjoy running (slowly), crocheting, and drawing in my free time.
Q: Is there something unexpected or surprising that people might not know about you?
A: I have a calico cat named Murphy after the daughter in Interstellar by Christopher Nolan.
Q: If you could pick one quote or mantra that you live by/resonates with you, what would it be?
A: Listen to those around you. There is always new information to learn and people who need to be heard.
Q: What’s your go-to productivity hack or stress-relief method?
A: When I am feeling unproductive or stressed, I love to take a walk. I turn off my phone notifications and walk around my neighborhood and when I get back to my computer, I feel rejuvenated.
FUN & FAVORITES
Q: If you could have lunch with any historical figure or celebrity (alive or otherwise), who would it be and why?
A: I would want to have lunch with Princess Diana. I think she would have some interesting things to say, and she has such a comforting presence that would ease my nervousness.
Q: What’s your favorite piece of technology or software right now?
A: I really love the Photoshop generative expand feature. It has helped me make photos fill graphic dimensions too many times to count.
Q: Share with us your favorite “hidden gem” in Waterloo or Cedar Falls – a place, dish, activity, or anything else.
A: EASY! Landmark on Main Street in Cedar Falls has the most beautiful patio in the back that has vines growing all around the sitting area (bring bug spray.) It is my favorite place to grab a little cocktail and catch up with old friends when the weather is nice.
We hope you enjoyed getting to know our Visual Content Strategist a little better. Having Maddie on our team ensures that our clients receive the best designs that not only meet but exceed their expectations! Stay tuned for more spotlights on the dedicated team members who work tirelessly to deliver exceptional service and innovative solutions to our valued clients.
